Hello,

Computer "lock ups",  "freezes" and "errors" in Windows® Vista, Windows® XP, or Windows® 2000 can be quite frustrating.  And, the dreaded "WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" ERROR is downright mind-boggling!!!

I had the SYSTEM 32 error happen to me recently which prompted me to start this site.  I'm not a computer wiz by any sort of the imagination.  I just wanted some answers and remedies to common computer problems that always seem to pop up at the most inconvenient times.  You know?  Like when you're trying to out -bid someone on an auction site?  And, you're down to seconds and you're going back and forth... and your PC locks up... UGH!

First, I had to restore Windows® XP, which I was able to do with the steps listed below. I was happy just to have my hard drive back!  But, my PC was still sluggish and slow.  I decided to try RegCure.  WOW! What a difference!  My PC is now running faster than ever and without any hangups!

Maybe, you too, have discovered "fixes" or "workarounds" to share.  Or, maybe this site can help "un-frustrate" you when it comes to PC glitches.  Please visit my BLOG page for posts and PC Tips.

Thank you for visiting. Below you will find the steps I took to solve my WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM problem.

Thanks again,

Steve

PC TIPS: How to Fix and Repair Windows SYSTEM32 Errors
before running RegCure

WindowsVista | Windows XP | Windows 2000
If you receive this error: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM and you CANNOT START Windows then you will need to reinstall/repair/restore Windows prior to running RegCure. You WILL NOT lose files saved on your hard drive! You are simply going to replace or repair missing or corrupted Windows files.
What you need: Your Windows Reinstallation CD (which should have come with your computer) or your purchased Windows CD.
1) Power On your PC.
2) Place your installation disc or copy of Windows in yourPRIMARY CD ROM     DRIVE (Usually top drive).
3) Restart PC by pressing and holding power button until it shuts down. Wait 30 seconds      then power computer back on.
4) At the first screen select F12 to enter BOOT MENU. SelectIDE CD ROM DRIVE to boot      from Windows CD.
5) The installation runs and will ask you if you to select "R" to Repair Windows or "Enter"      to reinstall Windows.  Hit "ENTER".
6) The next screen will ask you to select F8 to Accept Terms and Conditions, etc. Select      F8 to confirm.
7) The following screen will show that Windows Installation has found a previous      version of Windows running on your system.  NOW select "R" to Repair Windows.
8) Windows will reinstall/repair/replace missing corrupt or damaged files. This takes some      time and your PC monitor might "flicker". Just be patient and follow the prompts.
10) Run RegCure to optimize and repair your computer.  Make your PC Go SPEEDY!!!
